About the museum
Forserums Bygde- och Industrimuseum is located in the beautiful homestead park and is part of Forserums hembygdsförening. The newly built museum opened in 2014 and tells the industrial history of the station community.
In 1864 the Southern Main Line (Södra stambanan) came to Forserum and transformed the old church village into a lively industrial community a short distance from the church. Around the station and along the railway, over the years around a hundred industrial and craft businesses grew up, almost half of them along Fabriksgatan.
The exhibition is based on the work of two study circles on Forserum's history, and two books about the industries have been published. Pictures, stories and donated objects show the history of the district. In the homestead park there are also cottages and a stage, and in summer a summer café is open.
