About the museum
Forum Museum Rönnskär tells the story of the Rönnskär smelting works (smältverket) and of how industry in the area grew up. Visitors learn how the finds at Boliden came to affect both people and society.
The museum is inside the industrial area at Skelleftehamn, where the Rönnskärsverken works is today. The exhibitions cover the period from the first gold find at Fågelmyran in 1924 up to the modern smelting works of today, with stories about gold, metal production and recycling, and about the people who have lived and worked in the area.
