About the museum
Gullinmuseet is in Sanda’s old station building on Gotland and is dedicated to the jazz musician Lars Gullin, who was born in the station building in 1928. Gullin was one of the great renewers of Swedish jazz and one of the Swedish jazz musicians who became best known abroad. He died in 1976.
The museum opened in 2011 and is run by Sanda Local Heritage Association. The exhibition tells the story of Lars Gullin’s life and music. During the summer the association organizes concerts, including at the station building and in Sanda church, and awards a scholarship in the musician’s memory. Since 2015 there has been a walking route between Gullinmuseet and Tjuls järnvägsmuseum.
