About the museum
Husby hembygdsgård lies on a birch hillside about 700 meters north of Dala-Husby in Hedemora Municipality. All the objects and buildings on the farm come from various parts of the old Husby parish. The first building, the Storstugan, a farmhouse from Starbäcksbo, was inaugurated in 1937.
On the site there is, among other things, the Kaffestugan (coffee cottage), an old bakehouse; Borgen, an old soldier’s cottage; and the tool shed Bondens redskap (The Farmer’s Tools), a farming museum with large and bulky objects that were formerly used in agriculture and forestry. In Klockargården there is a school museum and a tailor’s workshop.
The local heritage farm is run by Husby hembygdsförening (Husby Local Heritage Association) and is used for events such as Midsummer celebrations and Husby Torgmarknad (Husby Market Fair). Coffee is served at events and by advance order.
