About the museum
The Industri- och Lantbruksmuseet is run by Mölndal local heritage society and is in an old industrial building at Götaforsliden in Mölndals Kvarnby. The exhibitions reflect how Mölndal developed from a mill village and farming district into an industrial town. Kvarnbyn once had mills, paper production, textile industry and oil pressing.
The industrial museum shows objects and exhibitions from Mölndal’s industrial history. On the upper floor there are exhibitions on home and household and on crafts, with authentic settings from a home in 1930s Mölndal and from a tailor’s, shoemaker’s, butcher’s and printer’s workshop.
Next door is the Lantbruksmuseet (Farming Museum), where you can follow farming in Mölndal from sowing to harvest and market trade. There is a complete farm smithy and various tools and machines, including a threshing machine.
