Ingatorps hembygdspark

About the museum

Ingatorps sockens hembygdsförening (parish local heritage society) was founded in 1928 and is the local association within Sveriges hembygdsförbund (the Swedish Association of Local Heritage Societies). The association works to care for the cultural and natural heritage of the district, make it accessible and influence community planning. It has also surveyed the remains of old buildings in the parish and marked them with signs.

The heritage park in Ingatorp is open to visitors at all times. The park includes the smithy and Nystugan, among other things. Buildings and collections are shown when the society has announced activities, or by arrangement with a contact person.

Together with LRF and Centern, the society runs the Lantbruks- och motormuseet (agricultural and motor museum), where machines and tools from the time before the tractor are shown, and the Kyrkomuseet (church museum) at the parish hall in Ingatorp. The society also organises National Day celebrations, village and crofter walks, and a Christmas market.
