About the museum
The Jämtlands Järnvägsmuseiförening (Jämtland Railway Museum Association) was formed in September 1994 by a group of retired railwaymen who had been running study circles on railway history since March that year. The association works to trace and preserve the railway history of Jämtland and is open to anyone interested in railways.
The association runs no train services. The collection consists of pictures, literature and objects, as well as a model railway. Everything is shown in the old signal box at Brunflo station.
The station building at Brunflo was completed in 1916 to drawings by Folke Zettervall, and the signal box within the station area has been a state-listed building since 2007.
