About the museum
Långsele hembygdsgård lies in Örbäck by road 87, about two kilometers from Långsele. The local heritage association was formed in 1966 by two driving forces, and the following year a lodge and land in the village were donated. Graningeverken AB donated an older main building from Gammelgården in Graninge, which was moved to Örbäck in 1976. The association changed its name to Långsele-Graninge Local Heritage Association in 1982, and the farm was inaugurated in 1984.
The site has ten buildings. Gammelgården, from around 1850, shows objects from the late 19th century to around the 1940s, including IOGT history, a wedding dress from 1901 and toys. In Idolfsboa there is a country store museum recreated after the closed country store museum in Näs, and the Porslinsmuseet (Porcelain Museum), opened in 2001, holds hundreds of products from Swedish porcelain factories.
The other buildings include Algots hus with a café, Pahléns, Lappjons, the lodge with older carriages, the härbret (storehouse) with handicrafts, the smithy and the cellar. In summer, midsummer celebrations and evening entertainment are held on the stage at the farm.
