About the museum
Näsåkers brandmannaklubb (Näsåker firefighters' club) was formed in 1955, and its members are part-time firefighters in Näsåker. In the 1990s the idea of a fire museum arose after the association was able to buy back an old fire engine that had been bought new for Näsåker in 1960, and restore it. After about a year of searching, the association was given a loge building by Resele, on condition that it was dismantled.
After nine years of work by the association's own efforts and with grants, the museum was ready and was opened on 1 July 2000. It is run on a voluntary basis and is probably the only association-owned fire museum in Norrland. Many people who are not members have donated objects and helped with the construction.
The museum has, among other things, a T-Ford from 1914, a Dodge from 1965 and a Chevrolet from 1960. Since the mid-1990s the association has also owned the old fire tower at Näfernäsan, which the Swedish Air Force donated.
