About the museum
Edsele hembygdsgård is run by Edsele Local Heritage Association and lies beautifully by Edsele vicarage, near the Faxälven river. A narrow footbridge leads across to the site. The local history museum consists of a double cottage built in 1836 that originally stood in Fjällbohög, and next to it is an old tithe barn from the vicarage’s lands.
The association runs a summer café in July, where you can have coffee and pastries in an old-fashioned setting indoors or out in the farmyard. The farm can also be rented for other events, such as christenings, and there is a bakehouse that can be rented.
Edsele hembygdsgård is one of several local heritage farms in Sollefteå Municipality that are open in summer and want to show the district’s older buildings and objects.
