About the museum

Miniature Kingdom is a miniature installation in the former industrial building of Kungsörs Bleckkärlsfabrik (Kungsör Tinware Factory) in Kungsör. The installation opened on 14 January 2017 and is being extended step by step. It is built at 1:87 scale, the common H0 scale for model railways, and is inspired by environments in Sweden that visitors should be able to recognise.

Today the installation covers about 200 square metres and shows landscapes from Abisko in the north to a stretch between the aqueduct at Håverud and Linköping in the south. Trains, lorries and buses roll through the miniature landscape, and about 5,000 small figures live in the model's towns. The environments built include Stockholm, Uppsala, Västerås, Eskilstuna, Nyköping, Oxelösund, Örebro, Värmland, Borensberg, Motala and Gamla Linköping.

The installation develops new parts several times a year. According to its own information, it was named Årets besöksmål i Västra Mälardalen (Visitor Attraction of the Year in Western Mälardalen) in 2023.
