About the museum
Roland Svensson Museet is a museum on Möja in the Stockholm archipelago, dedicated to the painter Roland Svensson (1910–2003), known for his archipelago motifs. The museum opened in 2014 in a newly built building by the Ramsmora steamboat landing stage.
The museum shows Roland Svensson's studio corners, which were moved from his earlier studio on Tornö after his death in 2003. A glass wall offers a view of the archipelago at Nassa and Gillöga.
The museum is owned by the association Roland Svenssons vänner (Friends of Roland Svensson), which was founded in 2003 to spread knowledge of his art. The work is carried out voluntarily by board members, and paid guides work in the museum during the summer.
