About the museum
Sandhamns museum is run by the association Sandhamns vänner (Friends of Sandhamn), which wants to preserve this pearl of the archipelago for future generations. The association hopes that in the coming years the museum will become an interesting and pleasant destination for visitors.
The museum has built a small boathouse (sjöbod). The association collects older objects such as cork life jackets, fishing rods, drag nets and floats, as well as photographs and objects that tell about the school, the shops and the children's regattas. Anyone with their own memories of life on Sandhamn, including from the time after 1960, is asked to write them down so that an archive of Sandhamn's stories can be built up.
