About the museum
Wällufsbygdens hembygdsförening (Wällufs local heritage society) was founded in 1969 to preserve old tools, machines and household objects from the area, so that future generations can see how people lived and worked. The museum lies beside Välluv church in Påarp, in the old vicarage (prästgård), a half-timbered building in yellow brick from 1807 that over time has been supplemented with several buildings.
The museum is spread over four buildings. In the craft museum there is a fully furnished smithy, a village general store and a confectioner's shop (konditori), as well as equipment from, among others, a joiner, a slipper maker, a brewery and a tailor. Upstairs a schoolroom from the early 1900s is shown, an old farmhouse kitchen, and dining-room settings from a well-off family and from a state farmhand's home (statarbostad). The next building holds the Påarpshörnan with documents and pictures, settings for the Home Guard (hemvärn) and the Lotta Corps (lottakår), an interior from Landsberg's nursery (Landsbergs plantskola), part of the pharmacy Apoteket Kärnan, and rooms from the 1940s and 1950s.
The vehicle museum holds working carts, a hearse from the late 1800s and farm implements. The latest house shows the Mörarp fire brigade's fire engine from 1937, a Ferguson tractor and a laundry. South of the buildings there is a garden with herbs and medicinal plants.
