About the museum

The Memorial Centre of the Homeland War Vukovar is located in the premises of the former barracks of the 204th Vukovar Brigade. The public institution looks after the remembrance of the Homeland War and the Battle of Vukovar, preserves memorial sites in the town and its surroundings, and educates pupils about the historical significance of the war events.

The centre is the central point for all sites and organisations connected with the remembrance of Vukovar’s tragedy. Visitors can view several indoor and outdoor exhibitions. The institution also manages other memorial sites, among them the Ovčara Memorial House and the Memorial House of Croatian Veterans on Trpinjska cesta.

The institution plans to expand its exhibition space with new displays, for example on the operations “Bljesak” (Flash) and “Oluja” (Storm), on the children killed in the Homeland War and on the battle for Borovo Selo.
