About the museum
The reception centre in Mali Sakadaš near Kopačevo is the main entrance to the Park prirode Kopački rit (Kopački rit Nature Park), one of the largest preserved floodplains of the Danube and Drava. Entry to the park is charged here, and the walk and the boat and small-boat excursions set off from here.
The multimedia exhibition in the centre introduces visitors to the rich biodiversity of the floodplain with the help of films, sounds and models. Prominent species such as the black stork, the lesser spotted eagle (orao štekavac), the otter, the pike and the deer are presented, and visitors can also experience the phenomenon of flooding. Four wall niches reveal the wondrous world of insects, fish, plants, amphibians and reptiles.
Children can enjoy an interactive game with the otter and stories about clouds, bird flight and the forming of flocks, and next to the centre is the children's playground Vidrina igraonica (Otter Play Room).
