About the museum
The decision to establish the Zavičajni muzej Našice was taken on 25 February 1974, and work began in October of the same year. From the outset it was conceived as a general museum for Našice and the Našice area, and today it serves the Town of Našice and neighbouring municipalities. Its first rooms were on the upper floor of the Pejačević Manor.
The Pejačević family, present in Našice since 1734, had the manor built in 1811/12. Around 1865 it received its present historicist appearance according to plans by Ferenc Storn the Elder: flanking four-storey towers, an entrance porch on the south side, a terrace on the north side and a mansard roof. The manor is now the seat of the museum.
The permanent display includes a gallery of ancestors, memorial rooms for Hinko Juhn, Isidor Kršnjavi and Dora Pejačević, a historical overview of the Našice region, an ethnographic collection, Ferićanci pottery and a display on hunting and fishing in the Našice area.
