About the museum
The Lammi Local Heritage Museum is owned and run by Lammi-Seura ry (Lammi Society). The museum’s central building is a brick storehouse built in 1888 in the church village of Lammi, which houses the Pellava- ja sahtimuseo (Flax and Sahti Museum). The museum tells of flax, which was a typical crop in Lammi until the Second World War, and of sahti, a traditional beer.
On the ground floor there are six sections, including sahti, a flax-washing room and a guest room. Upstairs the journey of flax from field to yarn and cloth is followed. The Flax and Sahti Museum opened in 1962.
On the museum grounds there is also the Alfred Kordelinin ajokalumuseo (Alfred Kordelin Vehicle Museum, 1964), which holds the vehicle collection of agricultural engineer Kordelin, as well as a log granary built in 1835, moved to its present site in 1977, which contains farming and household tools.
