About the museum
The museum grounds have nine buildings, in which objects related to everyday farm life are on display. The site includes, among other things, an old mill, a smoke cabin (savutupa), a stonemason’s cottage and a village smithy. The museum rooms are furnished in a period-appropriate and homely way, and the museum serves as an example of everyday life in its own cultural environment and era. The museum is maintained by the City of Orimattila.
