About the museum
In Gerania, in an outbuilding of the Poulkos mansion that the present owners bought in 1999, a carefully restored museum with the character of a house operates. The collection comprises 3,800 objects from the 18th to the 20th century, gathered over 27 years from abandoned buildings and from donations by the community.
On the ground floor are displayed tools for weaving, winemaking and agricultural work. On the upper floor there is a fully furnished traditional house of Siatista, with a kitchen, a best room (kalos ontas), a bedroom and a winter room, as well as textiles, children’s toys, books and coins.
