About the museum
The Museum of National Resistance (1940–1944) was founded by unanimous decision of the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Lamia in 2009 and opened to the public in 2013. It is housed in the premises of Lamia Town Hall, at the junction of Fleming and Erythrou Stavrou streets.
The museum operates with the participation of the association “Friends of the Museum of National Resistance and Modern History of Roumeli” and organises guided tours and thematic exhibitions. In autumn 2025 the exhibition “The Sabotage of the Resistance” was presented, with archival and photographic material on sabotage operations in Roumeli, such as the blowing up of the Gorgopotamos bridge.
