About the museum
The main theme of the museum is the life of the shepherds of the Bugacpuszta and the natural values of the puszta. In the exhibition, a racka (sheep breed), a kuvasz (guard dog), a reed hut with a knotted roof (kontyos nádkunyhó), a shepherd figure in bűgatyás (traditional shepherd's trousers), a cserény (wicker pen), a cifraszűr (embroidered sheepskin coat), a suba (sheepskin coat) and the tools of dairy processing evoke the vanished world of the shepherds; dioramas show the wildlife of the Bugac puszta and the sand-dune forests. Looking out of the building, a panorama of the puszta unfolds, giving a natural backdrop to the exhibition. The material forms part of the collection of the Kiskun Múzeum in Kiskunfélegyháza.
