About the museum
The building on Kinizsi utca is linked to the Precsinszki and Nagy families and is among the locally protected buildings of Dabas. It is one of the houses built in 1941 with central government support after the inland flood of 1940; only a few of these still stand in Szőlős, and the village heritage house is the only one that has survived in its original condition.
The house contains an ethnographic and local history collection, every piece of which comes from the district. The collection was created in 2007 from donations by locals, with the help of the Bátki János Nyugdíjas Klub (Bátki János Pensioners’ Club). Visitors can see, among other things, the furnishings of peasant houses from the early 1900s, a betyárfokos (bandit’s axe), a carved chair, a carving from the world war and a wooden clog brought back from prisoner-of-war captivity.
In the courtyard, an exhibition of twelve giant photographs commemorates the families of Dabas-Szőlős.
