About the museum
The Fazekas Emlékház is a reed-thatched peasant house more than two hundred and fifty years old, in which generations of potters lived and worked. In 1975 master potter Ifj. Horváth István donated the house to the local council of Csákvár, with the request that it continue to operate as a museum after his death.
The house presents the work, the life and the process of the potters of Csákvár. The museum in Székesfehérvár also keeps memorabilia from the material and documentary holdings of the Csákvár potters’ guild.
