About the museum
The Álmosd Blacksmith Museum stands in a protected folk monument building, in the village's former last working forge. The owner of the workshop was master blacksmith Mucsi Mihály, who was still working here in the 1960s and 1970s. Various tools were made and repaired here, carts were ironed and horses were shod.
In the workshop, the anvil, hammers, bellows, horseshoes and other tools, as well as the finished workpieces, are on display with complete equipment. Several blacksmith workshops operated in Álmosd's history to serve soldiers and the population; this is the only one that was still operating in the 1970s.
