About the museum
The settlement, part of the Gödöllő Hills, has attracted people since ancient times; according to the pottery fragments found here, traces of habitation reach back to the era of the linear-decorated pottery of the Neolithic. The village museum presents this long past and the local peasant way of life.
The exhibition includes the tools of transport and haulage, the volunteer fire brigade, memorabilia of small craftsmen and farmers, and peasant work tools. In the interior of the first room stands a blue-painted bed with tulip decoration and embroidered cushions; on the plate rack of the entrance hall and the open-hearth kitchen, earthenware vessels and glazed kuglóf (bundt cake) moulds are lined up. A separate section deals with folk costume and decorative art, and with the development of Nagytarcsa embroidery from stem stitch to hole embroidery.
