About the museum
The Múzeumsarok is the exhibition venue of the Tomory Lajos Múzeum in Pestszentlőrinc. The museum is the only institution of District XVIII, a district of over a hundred thousand inhabitants, that holds a museum operating licence and preserves historical sources; its main aim is to collect, preserve and present materials on local and educational history. The collection was founded in 1956 by the local school headmaster Tomory Lajos.
Most of the material presents the life, development, outstanding personalities and way of life of the suburban settlement that came into being through industrial and technical progress; in addition, it covers education, upbringing and childhood, especially the history of toys.
