About the museum
The Antiquarium di Tesis, in the hamlet of Vivaro, holds one of the richest collections from the Roman period in the province of Pordenone. The materials were recovered from the plain and the foothills of the Pordenone area by the Gruppo Archeologico Cellina-Meduna over more than thirty years of activity, under the direction of the heritage authority (Soprintendenza).
The display cases present finds from excavations of Roman rural villas and cemeteries in the territory of Vivaro, covering a period from the Bronze Age through the Roman era to the early Middle Ages. Among the objects on display are funerary urns and glass balsamaria.
The museum is part of the Ecomuseo Lis Aganis and opens by appointment, with guided visits available.
