About the museum
Ca' da Sitta is a rural house in the centre of the hamlet of Pentema, part of Torriglia, in the Val Pentemina, within the Parco dell'Antola. The building, possibly dating from the 16th century, takes its name from the last person who lived there; it had been abandoned for over sixty years and was in a state of serious decay.
The G.R.S. association “Amici di Pentema” bought the house with support from the Province of Genoa and carried out a conservation restoration, completed in 2010 thanks to contributions from Fondazione Carige, the Parco dell'Antola, the association's own funds and private donations. The consolidation project was drawn up by the Landscape Progetti studio.
The house has two floors plus an attic: the cowshed is on the ground floor, the living area on the middle floor, and the old drying loft, made accessible by an internal staircase, holds everyday objects. Most of the furnishings are original, because the house was found just as it had been left at the end of the Second World War; other objects were donated by private individuals to complete the display.

From Torriglia, follow the road towards the Lago del Brugneto for a short stretch and turn for Pentema at the locality of Donnetta. The association advises against the secondary road from Montoggio, which is narrow and partly unpaved and should only be driven with an off-road vehicle and good driving experience.
