About the museum
Casa Andriollo is located in Olle, a village of Borgo Valsugana, in a house built by its owners at the beginning of the 20th century. The village was largely destroyed by a fire during the First World War; the Andriollo family, who had lived in the house since the 1920s, had to leave and later returned to live in the building. The last inhabitant, Alice Andriollo, lived there all her life, and the house is named after her.
The display, devised by Rosanna Cavallini, is devoted to the anonymous women of the mountains and their silent work. The collections are arranged in six small rooms, that is, in the spaces of the house, around a massive central staircase of white and pink limestone.
The museum shows objects and artefacts used and made by women over a century ago and highlights the creativity of work carried out far from the spotlight. The theme also recalls the female world of the nearby Fersina valley and the Tesino plateau. The museum is part of the Museo diffuso della Valsugana orientale (dispersed museum of eastern Valsugana) and is run together with the Azienda per il Turismo Valsugana.
