About the museum
The Fucina Tognolli is located in Olle, a hamlet of Borgo Valsugana. It is a forge with a hydraulic trip hammer that began operating after the Second World War and remained in use until the end of the 20th century.
The workshop produced iron tools for agriculture, such as hoes, ploughshares and picks; for work in the woods, such as axes, hatchets, wedges and bark spuds; and for herding, for example “pianelle da bue” and sheep shears. The installation was adjusted after the war and worked at full capacity until a few years ago.
Today the forge is no longer in operation and is visited mainly for educational purposes. It is part of the Museo diffuso della Valsugana orientale and of the Itinerario etnografico del Trentino.
