About the museum
The house museum is in Lollove, a small stone village in the district (frazione) of Nuoro, and takes its name from Efisio Chessa, a long-standing resident of the village. In an old house a typical example of a traditional Barbagia house (casa barbaricina) has been reconstructed, with traditional utensils and furnishings; every everyday object of the past, from the plough to the sickle, is accompanied by a short poetic text.
The museum is linked to the revival of the village, which has become part of the Cortes Apertas and Autunno in Barbagia circuits, during which historic houses and courtyards are opened to visitors. Outside these events, visits are arranged by booking.
