About the museum
The Ecomuseo del Tesino terra di viaggiatori is a social promotion association that operates in the Tesino basin, in Eastern Valsugana, on the border with Veneto. It covers the three municipalities of Pieve Tesino, Castello Tesino and Cinte Tesino, three villages between 800 and 900 metres above sea level with about 2,100 inhabitants.
The ecomuseum aims to recover the local historical memory and the traditional culture of the valley, in particular the world of the itinerant traders and travellers who shaped its history, and to promote the territory in collaboration with the municipalities and other local bodies.
The area has five museums and various places of interest: the Museo Casa De Gasperi in Pieve Tesino, the Museo PER VIA, the Museo del Moleta in Cinte Tesino, housed in the Casa dei Cintesi, the T-Lab Museo tesino del territorio, the Museo del legno in the Palazzo Gallo in Castello Tesino, the Celado astronomical observatory and the archaeological site of Dosso di Sant’Ippolito. Free audio guides are available in Italian, English and German.
