About the museum
The Casa della manualità rurale “Geis e Riscjei” occupies the restored premises of the former dairy cooperative in the locality of Cornino, in Forgaria nel Friuli. The museum displays tools and everyday objects of the rural world, in particular rakes, baskets, gerle (back baskets) and wickerwork.
The route also includes sections on cheese-making, wool spinning and kitchen utensils, while on the upper floor there are multimedia tools for school groups. On some occasions local craftspeople, enthusiasts of these crafts, demonstrate the different stages of making the objects, such as weaving wicker and making rakes.
