About the museum
Museo Casabianca grew out of the private contemporary art collection assembled by Giobatta Meneguzzo from 1978 onwards. It is housed in an early 18th-century townhouse in Malo, granted under a loan arrangement, and is arranged in a way strongly shaped by the collector himself.
The core of the collection is international prints from 1960 onwards, with drawings, art prints and multiples. The sections cover numerous movements, from pop art to arte povera, from land art to Fluxus, from hyperrealism to Transavanguardia. According to specialist portals, there are over 1,200 works by around 700 artists, alongside a holding of about a thousand prints, an art library with over 1,600 volumes and a collection devoted to the writer Luigi Meneghello.
The premises comprise 580 square metres for the permanent collection, 110 square metres for temporary exhibitions and 90 square metres for the private archive and library. The museum is now open to visitors by appointment.
