About the museum
The Museo antropogeografico in Amandola is the visitor centre of the Monti Sibillini National Park and functions as a museum, documentation centre and ecomuseum. The route, made up of images, texts and reconstructions, presents the main themes of the territory: geology and natural environments, flora and fauna, legends, art, history and popular culture, with particular attention to the human activities that have shaped the mountain landscape.
The original seat was the cloister beside the church of San Francesco. After the damage caused by the 2016 earthquakes, the exhibition was moved to the premises of the former Collegiata, in Via Indipendenza, where it now shares the building with a store of works of art recovered after the earthquake.
