About the museum
The museum is housed in Villa Curi, in the historic centre of Montemonaco, at the foot of the Sibillini Mountains. It was created to gather and tell the story of a past in which art, history and literature were intertwined with the legends, myths and magic associated with the Apennine Sibyl, the sorceress who, according to tradition, lived in a cave on Monte Sibilla.
The route is organised in separate sections, each dedicated to artistic, historical and cultural evidence from the whole municipal territory. Among the objects on display are old books and parchments, which document the close link between the landscape, the layout of the village and the literary and legendary tradition of the Sibyl.
