About the museum
The museum is housed in the former church of San Domenico, in Via dell'Aquila Romana, and documents the historic wool industry of Arpino. The route preserves and displays the original equipment of the Lanificio Diodati (Diodati woollen mill): fibre openers (sfioccatori), carding machines, a twisting machine, a warping frame and various looms, as well as the powders used for dyeing fabrics.
The visit documents in detail all the stages of wool processing, from domestic craftsmanship to industrial production, and illustrates its technical and social aspects, including the dyeing school that was once active in Arpino.
