About the museum
The house museum is located in Costalta, a hamlet of San Pietro di Cadore, in a timber building made with the traditional blockbau technique, also called “a castello”. The building has three floors: the south side was used as living quarters, the north side as the rural part, with stable and hayloft.
The original rooms have been restored and converted into an ethnographic museum devoted to alpine rural architecture and the daily life of the community. On the ground floor, a carved wooden figure by the artist Tita Zasso depicts the house's owner, Àngiul Sài. According to visitor reviews, the visit is accompanied by volunteer guides.
