About the museum
The Cormòns municipal museum has been housed since 2002 in the eighteenth-century Palazzo Locatelli, overlooking Piazza XXIV Maggio in the town centre, which also houses the town hall. The collection focuses mainly on the works of the Friulian sculptor Alfonso Canciani (1863–1955), born in Cormòns and trained in Vienna during the years of the Secession, where he developed a personal artistic language.
On the raised ground floor (piano rialzato) a thematic section is devoted to his work. The ground floor and the first floor are used all year round for exhibitions on significant figures in the history and art of the town, and on objects, documents and images linked to the culture and territory of Cormòns.
