About the museum
The museum is dedicated to Francesco Genala, a politician born in Soresina in 1843 and died in Rome in 1893. Genala was Minister of Public Works in the Depretis government from 1883 to 1887 and in that role dealt with the consequences of the earthquakes that struck Casamicciola, on Ischia, in 1883, and Liguria in 1887.
The collection brings together documents, manuscripts and objects that belonged to the statesman and reconstructs his figure and public activity. The display is part of the cultural system of the Comune di Soresina and is linked to the municipal library, in whose premises it is housed.
