About the museum
The museum is dedicated to Duilio Cambellotti (1876–1960), an artist associated with the Pontine area, and is housed in Piazza San Marco in Latina, in the former building of the Opera Nazionale Balilla. The collections document about half a century of the artist’s work in the Agro Pontino, with sculptures, drawings, tempera works, woodcuts, ceramics, books, medals, posters and documents.
An important core consists of the original cartoons for “La Redenzione dell’Agro” (1934), the preparatory works for the tempera cycle on fibre-cement (Eternit) panels that decorates the Palazzo del Governo in Latina, together with tempera sketches on paper and pencil and ink studies on tracing paper that show the creative process of the mural cycle.
