About the museum
The museum was founded in 1997 from the private collection of Mariano De Pasquale, a flower and plant nursery entrepreneur, who gathered tools, machinery and objects of rural life together with vehicles from the war years. Over time the collection grew into a set of thematic museums linked by a story of 20th-century Italy, within the agritourism farm of the same name in Latina.
Across more than 30,000 square metres of exhibition space, ten pavilions trace about fifty years of history: rural traditions, the reclamation of the Pontine Marshes, the Second World War, with sections on Cassino, the Anzio landings, El Alamein, Messina and Salerno, deportation and internment, air and naval vehicles, life in the camps, vintage farm machinery and toys. The displays use 1:1 scale dioramas; about four hours are indicated for a full visit.
