About the museum
The house was built in the second half of the 19th century by Gaetano Braga himself, a cellist and composer born in Giulianova in 1829 and died in Milan in 1907. It is now a house museum. The Associazione culturale Braga, which carries out research on the musician, is also based here.
The museum holds various works of art (paintings, drawings and sculptures) linked to Braga and his life, including works by P. Montegny, P. Chardin, S. Schaeppi, A. Malaspina, A. Tantardini and the Giulianova sculptor A. Tentarelli. Alongside the artworks, letters, illustrations, documents and scores are on display, the fruit of research carried out in Italy and abroad.
During the visit it is possible to listen to recordings and performances of some of Braga's compositions and of other music from the same period.
