About the museum
The civic room displays plaster reproductions of works by the sculptor Raffaello Pagliaccetti, born in Giulianova in 1839, trained at the Accademia nazionale di San Luca and died in Giulianova in 1900. His works were held in various Florentine museums; they were purchased by Pasquale Ventili in 1914 and later donated to the Ospedali e Istituti Riuniti di Teramo.
The collection comprises fifteen plaster casts, including the bust of Field Marshal Moltke, the statue of Pope Pius IX, the statue of the Apostle Andrew and two sketches for the monument to Vittorio Emanuele II in Piazza della Libertà, inaugurated on 26 August 1894.
The plaster-cast gallery occupies the ground floor of the De Amicis school in Piazza della Libertà and is part of the Polo Museale Civico di Giulianova, which also offers an educational workshop for secondary schools dedicated to the artist.
