About the museum
The civic museum of Casalvieri was founded in 1958 on the initiative of Padre Michele Jacobelli, who collected finds and objects of various kinds. In 1978 the collection passed to the municipality. The museum is housed in the church of Santa Maria Assunta.
The collection is mainly archaeological and includes fossils, wall blocks from the pre-Roman town of Cominium and anatomical ex-votos of the Roman period from the votive deposit of Pescarola. The display is completed by musical instruments, agricultural tools and a collection of folk costumes from different parts of the world.
