About the museum
The museum is on the upper floor of the bishop’s seminary of Ceneda, in Vittorio Veneto, and gathers works from churches of the diocese. The collection began in the time of Albino Luciani, then bishop of Vittorio Veneto and later Pope John Paul I, with the aim of preserving and protecting an artistic heritage at risk.
The museum was inaugurated on 8 March 1986 and significantly extended in 2000; today the collections occupy the entire upper floor of the outer wings of the building.
Among the oldest works are pieces attributed to Pordenone, Guardi, Francesco Beccaruzzi, Pomponio Amalteo, Francesco da Milano and Titian; for modern art there are works by Rouault, De Pisis, Casarini and Fra Claudio.
