About the museum
The Museo del Sidecar in Cingoli traces the complete history of this vehicle, which was born in England in 1903 when the Graham brothers patented the first sidecar to be attached to a motorcycle. The route follows more than a century of technical development through the periods of prehistory, the pioneers, the ventennio (the Fascist era), the post-war years and the future.
The collection is divided into five sections: touring, commercial, competition, military and bonsai. The touring section includes the most representative models from the last century to the present day, a few scooters and bicycles with sidecars, and some motorcycles that belonged to famous people or were used in well-known films. The military section displays the vehicles used in the two world wars, placed in dioramas that recreate battle scenes. Among the historic pieces is a Peugeot Frères of 1904, listed as one of the first sidecars in history.
