About the museum

The Museo dell’olio is housed in the Vecchio Mulino (Old Mill) of the Borgo in Serrapetrona, a historic building that once ground cereals and is today a tourist and cultural centre. In the room, which has brick floors, period equipment, machinery and tools linked to oil processing, dating from the early 20th century, are on display.

The same building also houses the Archivio storico comunale (municipal historical archive), which holds the parchment statute of 1473 and parchments dated from 1131 to 1648, as well as spaces for temporary exhibitions of painting, graphic art and sculpture.
