About the museum

The Pinacoteca d’Arte Sacra Contemporanea in Serrapetrona is housed in the historic centre, in an old 15th-century palazzo that belonged to the parish of San Clemente, on Via San Francesco.

The museum extends over three levels and holds paintings, prints and sculptures made with different techniques and materials, including oil on canvas, watercolour on paper, lithograph, engraving, bronze and Plexiglas. The works belong to different artistic currents, from images in the classical tradition to Expressionism, from geometric Synthetism to Pop-based hyperrealism, and they share the theme of the sacred and the religious.

The collection includes works by established masters, such as Valeriano Trubbiani, alongside those of young emerging artists. Following the damage caused by the 2016 earthquake, the building was declared unsafe for use and the museum is temporarily closed.
